Raggiana
Paradise is a kind of warbler-sized, with a length of about 34cm, of the genus Paradisaea. This bird is yellow and brown, bluish gray beak, mouth pink, yellow iris and gray legs purplish brown.
Regional distribution Raggiana Paradise found in tropical rain forests, lowland forests, hills and mountains of the south island of New Guinea, from sea level to an altitude of 1,500 meters.
This species has a wide distribution area and are often found in their habitat, Paradise Raggiana evaluated as low risk on the IUCN Red List. Birds are listed in CITES Appendix II.
The name of this species commemorates a nobleman from Genoa, Italy named Francis Raggi. Raggiana Paradise is the national fauna of Papua New Guinea.
Adult male birds have feathers colorful decorations of red, orange and the color mixture of red-orange on the side of the stomach, dark emerald green throat, chest hair dark brown and in the tail there are two long black strap. Female birds are smaller than males, with a brown face and had no fur trimmings.
